Supplemental Cancer Insurance

What is cancer insurance?

Cancer insurance is an extra layer of financial protection, in the event that you are diagnosed with cancer. This supplemental plan will help to cover any out-of-pocket expenses related to cancer treatments that may not be covered by primary health insurance.

Over 1.3 million new cancer cases are diagnosed each year

What are the types of cancer insurance policies?

Expense Incurred Policy

This policy will pay a percentage of all covered treatments, up to the policy limit.

Indemnity Policy

Instead of paying a percentage of all covered treatments, this policy assigns a dollar amount to each individual service, and that is the amount you receive.

First Diagnosis or First Occurrence Policy

This policy pays the insured person a lump sum of money, upon diagnosis of cancer. These funds can then be used to cover direct or indirect medical expenses.

What does cancer insurance cover?

Supplemental cancer insurance covers any out-of-pocket expenses that are associated with cancer treatment. These out-of-pocket expenses include:

  • Plan deductibles

  • Co-pays

  • Chemotherapy

  • Transportation expenses

  • Rent

  • Mortgage Payments

  • Groceries

  • Child care

  • Household expenses

â…” of cancer recovery costs are non-medical related

How does it work?

Just like most supplemental plans, once you are diagnosed, you will receive a pay-out from the insurance company. You can use this lump sum of money to pay for anything that is directly, or indirectly related to your care and recovery.
